2012-batch IAS officer re-designated as Director of National Gallery of Modern Art

New Delhi, August 9, 2026: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has approved the re-designation of Nidhi Choudhari, IAS (MH:2012), from Deputy Secretary to Director at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) under the Ministry of Culture.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Office of the Establishment Officer on August 7, 2026, the competent authority approved the upgradation of the post as a personal measure for Choudhari.
The re-designation will take effect from the date she assumes charge as Director.
Her total admissible tenure on central deputation will continue up to August 20, 2029. The order also completes her five-year tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme, counting from the commencement of her central deputation on August 21, 2024.
The decision follows a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Culture earlier this month.
