Schoolgirls Tie Rakhis to Chief Minister; Social Organisations’ Representatives and Dignitaries Also Attend

Chandigarh, August 28, 2026: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with schoolgirls, representatives of social organisations and other dignitaries at Sant Kabir Kutir on Friday.
Schoolgirls tied rakhis on the Chief Minister’s wrist during the celebration. Saini blessed the girls, extended his best wishes for their bright future and interacted with them on the occasion. His wife, Suman Saini, was also present.
Greeting the people of Haryana on Raksha Bandhan, the Chief Minister said the festival symbolises the sacred bond of love, affection and trust between brothers and sisters. He said the occasion also reminds society of its responsibility towards the respect, safety and empowerment of daughters and sisters.
Saini said the Haryana Government was continuously working to ensure that girls received respect, security and equal opportunities to move ahead in life.
“Our daughters are the strength of society and the state,” he said, adding that providing girls with education, dignity and a safe environment was essential for building a stronger society.
The Chief Minister further said festivals such as Raksha Bandhan strengthen the values of social harmony, mutual affection and brotherhood.
Representatives of various social organisations and other dignitaries also extended Raksha Bandhan greetings to the Chief Minister. Saini thanked them and said social organisations play an important role in strengthening the spirit of service, cooperation and brotherhood in society.
