Babushahi Bureau
Chandigarh, September 7, 2026: After several days of rainfall across parts of Punjab and Chandigarh, the weather is likely to improve gradually, with the Meteorological Department not issuing any rain alert for the state for the coming week.
However, scattered rainfall is expected in 14 districts of Punjab on Monday.
According to the Meteorological Centre, light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar. Similar weather conditions are possible in Amritsar, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Mohali, Sangrur and Mansa.
Meanwhile, Chandigarh is likely to remain cloudy throughout the day. The overcast conditions, combined with humidity, may make the weather feel warmer despite limited sunshine.
The Meteorological Centre said the monsoon trough is currently passing close to Punjab, influencing rainfall activity across several parts of the state. A western disturbance is also active over Jammu and Kashmir, while another system is developing at higher atmospheric levels.
These weather systems are expected to bring light to moderate rain at some places, but no major rainfall warning has been issued for Punjab at present.
