Former Jathedar Nandgarh’s son-in-law Pargat Singh Bhodipura joins Waris Punjab De

Amritsar (Punjab), October 4, 2026: Pargat Singh Bhodipura, son-in-law of former Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, joined the Akali Dal Waris Punjab De along with his supporters at a conference held in Mohali.
Bhodipura, who is the state president of the Dastar Federation and a prominent Panthic figure, was formally welcomed into the party by Bapu Tarseem Singh, father of Member of Parliament Amritpal Singh and working president of the party. Tarseem Singh honoured him with a siropao on the occasion.
Several senior party leaders, office-bearers and workers attended the conference, including MP Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali, parliamentary board chairman Kabal Singh and other members of the party leadership.
Bhodipura has reportedly been associated with activities promoting the dastar, martial arts, Gatka and Panthic awareness for around 26 years. He has also worked with various Panthic organisations in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan and was associated with Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh in Panthic activities for several years.
He has previously served in various positions in the Gatka Federation, including state chairman, Malwa Zone in-charge and Bathinda district president under the SGPC’s Gatka Directorate.
Bhodipura has also served as a superintendent at a college affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala, and as a director of the Pehredar publication. He currently serves as president of the Dastar Federation, senior vice-president of the Bathinda Dealers Petroleum Association and founder of the International Gatka Academy at Damdama Sahib, besides being associated with various organisations and trusts.
Welcoming Bhodipura and his supporters, Tarseem Singh said the entry of people with long-standing experience in religious, Panthic and social fields would strengthen the party.
He said Bhodipura’s experience would be valuable for the party and reiterated that Akali Dal Waris Punjab De was committed to raising issues concerning Punjab, Punjabi language and the Panth and becoming the voice of the people.
