Shahzad Bhatti Cannot Hide Behind Borders Forever: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal
Ludhiana, 19 June 2026: During a meeting with BJP workers at Ishar Singh Nagar area under Ludhiana South Assembly Constituency No. 61, National BJP leader Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, referring to media reports regarding Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti, said that individuals who choose the path of organised crime, violence and terror bring disgrace upon society and humanity. He stated that if the allegations against Shahzad Bhatti are established through due process, he must face the severest punishment permissible under law. Grewal asserted that no gangster, irrespective of his influence or place of operation, should be allowed to believe that international borders can provide permanent shelter from justice.
Grewal lauded the exemplary work of India’s security and intelligence agencies and stated that the successful exposure and dismantling of a 12-member terror module allegedly linked to Pakistan-based elements and organised criminal networks once again demonstrated the vigilance, professionalism and unmatched courage of India’s brave security forces.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the Government of India has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and anti-national activities, considerably strengthening the country’s security architecture. Their dedication and sacrifices continue to foil sinister designs aimed at targeting police personnel, religious places and disturbing communal harmony.
Grewal said that serious questions need to be answered by the Pakistani establishment regarding the repeated emergence of extremist elements and organised criminal networks with cross-border dimensions. He added that separatist elements, Khalistani extremists, Babbar Khalsa International-linked operatives and criminal-gangster syndicates attempting to spread hatred, mislead the youth and destabilise society must be dealt with firmly in accordance with the rule of law. He asserted that no ideology or propaganda machinery can ever justify violence against innocent citizens, security personnel or places of worship.
He stated that those who seek to spread fear, bloodshed and instability are enemies of peace and humanity and that every handler, conspirator, financier and facilitator involved in anti-national activities must ultimately be brought to justice. Grewal reiterated that terror networks and their supporters may continue to conspire, but India’s determination to defeat terrorism is stronger than ever and there can be no compromise whatsoever with forces seeking to spread fear, violence and instability.
