Students celebrate sporting icons at ‘KidZania: Spirit of Sports’
Ferozepur, October 11, 2026: Celebrating India’s growing achievements in the world of sports, students of Das and Brown World School presented a spectacular annual prize ceremony on the theme “KidZania: Spirit of Sports” at the Vishnu Bhagwan Rai Bahadur Auditorium.
Students of Classes I and II of DBS and Classes II to V of the Cambridge Board participated in the colourful programme. The event was attended by BSF DIG (Retd.) Brigadier Vijay Singh Rana as the chief guest, while Army officer Upendra Kumar, Swami Vivekanand Group of Institutes Director Ankur Gupta, Judicial Officer Neha Goyal, Dr. Shipra Srivastava and Shagun Mittal were the special guests. DCM Group CEO Dr. Anirudh Gupta presided over the function.
Principal Ruchi Pandey said presented the annual report, highlighting the school’s achievements in education, sports and other fields and its contribution towards bringing laurels to the border district on the global map.
Through a series of dance and cultural performances, students paid tribute to sporting legends, including hockey icons Major Dhyan Chand and Sandeep Singh, the Phogat sisters Geeta and Babita, Mary Kom, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the legendary Milkha Singh. The performances also showcased the journey of Indian women’s cricket to becoming World Cup champions.
Chief guest Vijay Singh Rana appreciated the school’s efforts, particularly for creating world-class infrastructure and providing quality education in a border district. He said promoting sports among youngsters was a commendable initiative that could help keep the younger generation away from undesirable influences.
More than 100 students were honoured under various categories, including Wizkid, Good Samaritan, Shining Star, Ruskin Bond, Young Picasso, Dance Maestro and 100 per cent Attendance. The school’s recent achievement of receiving the Arise Award in the field of sports was also highlighted.
