Senior IPS officer Mukhtar Mohsin appointed as DIG in SSB

New Delhi, June 10, 2026: In a key administrative reshuffle by the Central Government, senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Mukhtar Mohsin has been assigned an important new responsibility.
Mukhtar Mohsin, a 2005-batch IPS officer of the Uttarakhand cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), a critical Central Armed Police Force responsible for guarding India’s borders and maintaining internal security.
Currently, Mohsin is serving on central deputation as Deputy Director/DIG at the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). His new posting to the SSB has been made on the basis of a lateral shift, marking a significant transition in his career within central security agencies.
