Alert railway staff helps foreign tourists recover lost luggage
Ferozepur, August 3, 2026: Setting an example of honesty, prompt action and exemplary passenger service, ticket checking staff at Ludhiana Railway Station helped two foreign travellers recover their luggage, which had been left behind on a train.
The two foreign passengers approached Amanpreet Singh, ticket checking staff posted in the Ticket Inspector’s Office at Ludhiana, in a distressed state and informed him that they had accidentally left behind seven bags containing three laptops, passports and other important documents in Train No. 15708.
Acting promptly, Amanpreet Singh contacted the ticket checking staff deployed on Train No. 15708 and requested them to locate and keep the luggage safely. He also informed the Commercial Control Room, Ferozepur, so that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Sirhind could take the recovered belongings into safe custody.
The passengers were subsequently guided by Amanpreet Singh to travel to Sirhind by Train No. 22430 and collect their belongings from the RPF office. After completing the necessary formalities at Sirhind Railway Station, the RPF handed over the luggage to the two foreign travellers.
The passengers expressed their gratitude to the railway staff for their prompt assistance and sincere efforts in ensuring the safe recovery of their valuable belongings and documents.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Basant Kumar appreciated Amanpreet Singh for his commendable action and said that the incident was an excellent example of the honesty, dedication to duty and service-oriented approach of railway employees towards passengers.
