35 Lakh Khatris unite on a modern platform; website launched to connect community
Ferozepur, December 31, 2024: A significant step towards uniting Punjab’s 35 lakh Khatris on a single platform was taken during a family gathering held at Khatri Bhawan in Ferozepur. The event, organized under the banner of the Khatri Maha Sabha Punjab, marked the launch of a modern website aimed at connecting Khatris across the state.
The program, inaugurated with chants praising Lord Ram, was attended by prominent community leaders, including Khatri Maha Sabha Punjab President Advocate Vijay Dhir, Secretary Pawan Bhandari, and Tarsem Bedi, along with a large gathering of Khatri community members.
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the website, which allows Khatris to register as members from the comfort of their homes. Advocate Vijay Dhir explained that the platform would not only enable members to connect statewide but also serve as a repository for information on the community's achievements and resources for its progress. The website’s innovative features ensure that Khatris from across the globe can stay updated on their community’s contributions with just one click.
Speaking at the event, Advocate Dhir emphasized the rich legacy of the Khatri community, tracing its lineage to Lord Ram and highlighting its immense contributions in various fields. He proudly mentioned historical figures like Hari Singh Nalwa and Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar, who brought honour to the Khatri name through their unparalleled courage and patriotism.
Youth Wing President Ankush Bhandari was lauded for his leadership in uniting young Khatris through this platform. Advocate Dhir expressed confidence that the initiative would soon bring together Khatri youth from across Punjab to achieve the Sabha’s goals.
Pawan Bhandari, President of Khatri Welfare Sabha Ferozepur, reiterated the mission to bring all 35 lakh Khatris onto this unified platform. He underlined the community’s potential to influence progress and development through collective efforts.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from numerous dignitaries, including Tarsem Bedi, Surinder Berry, Gaurav Behl, and many others, who expressed their support for this initiative aimed at strengthening community bonds and showcasing the Khatri community's contributions on a global scale.
