Punjabi Singer Gur Sidhu bereaved, father Sukhbir Singh Sidhu passes away

Chandigarh, August 15, 2025: The Punjabi music industry has been struck by a wave of grief following the sudden demise of popular singer Gur Sidhu’s father, Sardar Sukhbir Singh Sidhu. Known for creating a distinct identity in a short span of time, Gur Sidhu is now facing a deeply personal loss as his father passed away last night.
According to reports, Sukhbir Singh Sidhu — who was also the Sarpanch of their native village, Chak Fateh Singh Wala — died of a heart attack. The news was confirmed by MLA Master Jagsir Singh through a social media post, in which he expressed condolences and prayed for the departed soul.
“May Waheguru Ji grant eternal peace to S. Sukhbir Singh Sidhu Ji and give the family strength to bear this loss,” the MLA wrote.
The news has left Gur Sidhu’s fans and the Punjabi music fraternity in mourning. Tributes have been pouring in on social media, with many expressing heartfelt sympathies to the singer and his family during this difficult time.
