New Delhi, July 29, 2026: Supreme Court has ordered police and the government to not take coercive action against students and protestors and also asked them to release minors taken into custody though it gave liberty on taking action against criminals involved in protests.
The highest court also gave indications that it will constitute a high level Special Investigation team (SIT) headed by a retired Supreme Court judge to inquire into allegations of excesses committed against students.
