HPMC to procure C-Grade apples in Himachal; Online registration begins
More than 250 farmers registered on MIS app; collection centres to be opened in phases across major apple-growing regions

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), August 2, 2026: The Himachal Pradesh Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) has been entrusted with the procurement of C-grade apples in the state for the 2026 season, with the registration process for growers now underway through a fully digitised Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) procurement system.
To make the procurement process more transparent and efficient, farmer registration on the MIS application has been made mandatory. More than 250 apple growers have registered on the platform so far, officials said.
HPMC General Manager Aman Kumar Rana said the corporation would operate apple collection centres in major apple-growing regions in a phased manner.
In the first phase, collection centres will be set up in Rohru, Jubbal and Chopal areas of Shimla district. Centres are also being planned in identified apple-growing areas of Chindi and Chachyot in Mandi district, as well as in parts of Kullu and Chamba districts.
Additional collection centres may be opened in other apple-growing regions in subsequent phases, depending on demand and procurement requirements, Rana said.
After completing registration, farmers will be able to use the MIS application to provide advance information about the expected quantity of C-grade apples they intend to sell. They will also be able to select their preferred or nearest operational apple collection centre.
Officials said the advance information would help HPMC assess the expected arrivals and make appropriate arrangements for procurement, transportation and storage.
Farmers can register through laptops and desktop computers or by using the dedicated mobile application. The corporation has also sought the support of gram panchayats to help growers complete the registration process.
The MIS application is being linked with Lok Mitra Kendras, where farmers will be able to receive assistance with registration and other related services.
Meanwhile, the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing and Consumers’ Federation, popularly known as HIMFED, is also operating apple collection centres in various areas according to local requirements. These include centres in Rampur, Ani, Jubbal, Theog and Jogindernagar.
HPMC has appealed to apple growers to complete their registration on time to avoid inconvenience during the procurement season. Registered farmers will be able to use the application to facilitate the delivery of their produce at the nearest operational collection centre.
