Teesri Akh Literary Society celebrates Punjabi Month-25 at DSCW
Ferozepur, November 13, 2025: “Teesri Akh Literary Society” celebrated Punjabi Month-25 at Dev Samaj College for Women (DSCW) by the literary wing of the Post Graduate Punjabi Department. Around 55 students participated in the program.
The event aimed to promote love and awareness for the Punjabi language among students. The celebration began with a devotional hymn that set a serene and spiritual atmosphere in the college auditorium.
Principal Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, who presided over the program, emphasized the importance of the Punjabi language and encouraged students to use it in their daily lives.
Head of the Post Graduate Punjabi Department, Dr. Parmvir Kaur, in her address, highlighted that Punjabi is not just a language but the soul of Punjab’s spiritual and cultural identity. She urged students to engage deeply with Punjabi literature, poetry, and folk art to preserve their linguistic and cultural heritage.
The event featured soulful performances by students including Ribika, Reetu, Navdeep, Shruti, Navjot Kaur, and Komalpreet Kaur in Geet Gayan, and Riya, Harpreet Kaur, Prabhjot Kaur, Komalpreet Kaur, Pawandeep Kaur, and Navneet Kaur in Kavita Ucharan. Their cultural presentations were the highlight of the event, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Parmvir Kaur and Prof. Nishan Singh, while Dr. Sandeep Singh from the Music Department accompanied the performances on harmonium.
