Ferozepur launches 11-day special cleanliness campaign under Mission Clean Punjab

Ferozepur, August 29, 2026: A special cleanliness campaign under the Punjab Government's Mission Clean Punjab was launched across the state on Saturday and will continue from August 29 to September 8, 2026.
Following the directions of Punjab Local Government Minister Harjot Singh Bains, a sustained special sanitation drive will be carried out in all cities and towns of Punjab during this period. Necessary directions in this regard had already been issued to Deputy Commissioners across the state.
In Ferozepur district, the campaign was launched under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma and Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Amandeep Kaur. Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats across the district deployed their sanitation teams early in the morning to carry out cleanliness activities at various locations according to a specially prepared schedule.
Giving details, Superintendent Sanitation Sukhpal Singh said that in Ferozepur, a special cleanliness drive was undertaken from St Joseph's Convent School to Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk, Delhi Gate and Baghdadi Gate, covering the entire stretch of Mall Road.
The drive included complete sweeping of roads, lifting of garbage and debris, cleaning of stormwater drains, sprinkling of water, mosquito-control spraying and fogging across the designated areas. Similar cleanliness operations are also being carried out in other Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats of the district as per the special schedule.
ADC(G)-cum-Nodal Officer for Mission Clean Punjab appealed to the residents of Ferozepur district, along with social, religious and political organisations, to actively support and participate in the campaign. She said collective public participation was essential to make Ferozepur a cleaner, greener and healthier district.
