Punjab CM Mann, prominent artists pay last respects to Rajvir Jawanda in Pona; Watch Video

Pona (Ludhiana), October 9, 2025: The final rites of popular Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda were performed today at his native village Pona amid a deeply emotional atmosphere. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with several noted personalities from the Punjabi music and film fraternity, attended the cremation to pay their last respects.
"Rajveer Jawanda, the esteemed artist of Punjabi mother tongue, passed away for a century last day, the loss is irreparable for the family and the music world. Today attended Rajveer Jawanda's ancestral village Pona (Jagraon) and shared condolences with the family. May Waheguru give the departed soul a place in his feet and give strength to the family to accept the fate. Rajveer Jawanda's invaluable contribution for Punjab and Punjabiism will always be unforgettable," expressed CM Mann.

Among those present were singers Jasbir Jassi, Harbhajan Mann, Resham Anmol, actor Karamjit Anmol, and many others who joined fans and family in mourning the untimely demise of the 35-year-old artist.
Rajvir’s mortal remains were placed for public viewing as thousands queued up for a final glimpse. Tight security arrangements were made prior to the Chief Minister’s arrival, with barricades set up to manage the large crowd. The cremation ceremony began at around 11 a.m.

The Tragic Accident
Rajvir Jawanda’s life was tragically cut short following a road accident on September 27. The singer was riding his bike to Shimla when he met with a severe accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. He suffered critical head and spinal injuries and was admitted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali.
Despite battling for his life for 12 days, he passed away on October 8 due to multi-organ failure. His death has sent shockwaves through Punjab, leaving the music industry and his fans heartbroken.
Rajvir Jawanda’s legacy as a talented singer, actor, and humble human being will continue to live on in the hearts of millions who admired him.
