Punjab invites applications for National Awards to Teachers 2026; Online registration open till this date

Chandigarh, June 30, 2026: The Punjab School Education Department has invited applications from eligible teachers for the National Awards to Teachers 2026, with the online registration process open until July 10, 2026.
According to a spokesperson for the department, the awards, instituted by the Union Ministry of Education, are among the country’s highest honours for educators and recognise outstanding contributions, innovation and dedication in the field of school education.
Eligible teachers, school heads and school in-charges from Punjab can submit their applications online through the official National Awards to Teachers portal by the prescribed deadline.
After the closing of registrations on July 10, applications will be scrutinised by the District Selection Committee. Shortlisted candidates will then be evaluated by the State Selection Committee, which will forward six nominations from Punjab to the Independent National Jury by July 31, 2026.
The shortlisted nominees will be required to present their achievements, innovative teaching practices and contributions to improving learning outcomes before the Independent National Jury.
The final awardees will be selected on the basis of a comprehensive evaluation of their work, including innovation in pedagogy, student development and overall contribution to the education sector.
The School Education Department has urged eligible teachers across the state to apply within the stipulated timeline and participate in the national selection process.
