Teena Avninder Virk takes over as President of Rotary Club of Chandigarh

Chandigarh, June 30, 2026: Entrepreneur, philanthropist and social activist Teena Avninder Virk will assume office as President of the Rotary Club of Chandigarh on July 1, becoming the club's seventh woman president as it enters the 68th year of its charter.
A graduate of MCM DAV College, Chandigarh, and an MBA from IGNOU, Virk has been actively involved in social service, entrepreneurship and writing. She has contributed articles on women-centric issues for a leading newspaper and has interviewed several prominent personalities, including Preneet Kaur, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Neena Gupta, Mumtaz and Nirupama Rao.
Virk has also interviewed renowned scientist Narinder Singh Kapany, an experience she describes as one of her most cherished memories.
After the Delhi riots, she ventured into entrepreneurship under the guidance of her husband, Ravinder Singh Virk. She joined the Rotary Club of Chandigarh in 2017 and has since served in several leadership roles, earning multiple recognitions for her contribution and commitment to the organisation.
The new Board of Directors for the 2026-27 term includes Sartaj Lamba as Vice President, Abha Joshi Sharma as Immediate Past President, Shabana Azam as Secretary, Anil Chadda as Treasurer and Dr Aman Bhatia as Joint Secretary.
Other office-bearers include Prem Mahendru (Director, Club Service), Arun Agarwal (Director, Community Service), Lalita Grover (Director, Vocational Service), Amrit Pal Singh Dhiman (Director, International Service) and Shivya Sehgal (Director, Youth Service).
Former District Governors Madhukar Malhotra and Praveen Chander Goyal will serve as ex-officio members, while former Rotary International President Rajendra K. Saboo and Usha Saboo will mentor the leadership team.
Virk's appointment marks another milestone in the Rotary Club of Chandigarh's long-standing tradition of community service and civic engagement.
