Breaking-Punjab DA Case: High Court reserves verdict after concluding hearing

Chandigarh, July 22, 2026: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday reserved its verdict on petitions concerning the long-pending Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) dues of Punjab government employees and pensioners.
The court concluded hearings after listening to detailed arguments from both the petitioners, representing employees and pensioners, and the Punjab government's counsel. The verdict is expected to be pronounced in the coming days.
The outcome of the case is being closely watched by around 3.5 lakh serving government employees and over 4 lakh pensioners in Punjab, as it could have significant financial implications for them.
