Lalru (Punjab), October 9, 2026: Gurdarshan Singh Saini, vice-president of the Punjab BJP OBC Morcha, marked his birthday by distributing suits to 2,000 women and presenting tricycles to 21 persons with disabilities in the Handesra circle of Dera Bassi constituency.
The event also witnessed a gathering of supporters in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with Saini reiterating his commitment to public service and social welfare.

Addressing the gathering, Saini spoke about Punjab’s political situation and said the state needed a strong and accountable government to address challenges such as drug abuse and corruption. He urged people to support the BJP, claiming that the party could provide a new direction to Punjab’s development.
Saini said protecting young people from drugs, creating employment opportunities, ensuring women’s dignity and improving public services should be among the government’s priorities. He added that people needed a government that delivered results on the ground rather than making promises.
Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, Saini questioned its handling of corruption-related issues and referred to CBI raids, alleging that such developments had raised questions about the government’s functioning. These remarks were his political assertions.
He said public service remained his primary objective and pledged to continue working to address the concerns of residents in the constituency. He added that initiatives related to healthcare, education, employment and social assistance would continue.
Those present included Saini’s son, Hardeep Singh Saini; district OBC Morcha president Harpreet Singh Saini; Pushpinder Mehta; Satish Jaldhar; and mandal presidents Sukhdev Rana, Ranvir Rana Bittu and Satpal Bansal, along with other BJP workers and local residents.
