Misl Satluj launches Punjab Poll Campaign, Fields Bibi Jasmeet Kaur Chhina from Sanaur

Patiala (Punjab), May 10, 2026: Political outfit Misl Satluj has intensified preparations for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections, with the party announcing a focus on promoting women and youth leadership in state politics.
Addressing party workers in Patiala, Misl Satluj president Ajaypal Singh Brar said the organization would field candidates across Punjab and bring forward new leadership to strengthen the state’s economic, social and cultural framework.
Brar stated that women and young leaders would be given significant opportunities in the upcoming elections to bring “fresh thinking and new energy” into Punjab politics.
As part of this initiative, the party has already declared Bibi Jasmeet Kaur Chhina as its candidate from the Sanaur Assembly constituency.
On Sunday, Bibi Jasmeet Kaur Chhina formally launched her election campaign after paying obeisance at Gurdwara Bahadurgarh Sahib. Following the Ardas, she began a public outreach programme by interacting directly with residents of the Sanaur constituency.
A large number of party leaders, workers and supporters attended the event and extended support to her candidature.
Addressing the gathering, Bibi Jasmeet Kaur Chhina said efforts would be made to establish specialised technical and higher educational institutions in Sanaur to strengthen the constituency economically. She also announced plans to seek support from social organisations and NRIs for promoting women’s education and skill development.
Appealing to voters, she urged the people of Sanaur to support Misl Satluj in building a “new, prosperous and progressive Punjab.”
Bibi Jasmeet Kaur Chhina has a long association with Sikh political and social movements. She is the wife of Sikh struggle martyr Bhai Satnam Singh Chhina and was associated with the All India Sikh Students Federation during the Dharam Yudh Morcha. She has also worked on human rights and social welfare initiatives, including healthcare camps, flood relief work and women’s welfare programmes.
Since 2023, she has been serving as president of the women’s wing of Misl Satluj and is now actively contesting electoral politics from the Sanaur constituency.
