Illegal property of drug smuggler demolished under zero tolerance drive
Ferozepur, May 10, 2026: Continuing its crackdown against drug trafficking under the Punjab Government’s zero tolerance policy, Punjab Police along with the civil administration demolished an illegally constructed property allegedly built using drug money in border village Tendiwala near the Indo-Pak border in Ferozepur district.
The demolition action was carried out using a JCB machine after obtaining orders from the competent authority. The property allegedly belonged to Gurpreet Singh alias Gora, who is wanted by the police in a 7 kg heroin recovery case.
Giving information, SP(D) Manjeet Singh said that the accused had allegedly encroached upon nearly 10 to 12 marlas of government land and constructed the house illegally. Acting against the illegal property, the police and administration jointly demolished the structure as part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
He said, Gurpreet Singh Gora is absconding and police teams are continuously conducting raids to arrest him. He further stated that investigations into other heroin-related cases linked to the accused are also underway and more revelations are expected after his arrest.
SSP reiterated that strict action would continue against drug smugglers and those who have created illegal assets through narcotics money, especially in border areas affected by drug trafficking.
