Punjab-Haryana HC Bar Association office bearers to meet CJI over LADC Scheme on Aug 3

Chandigarh, August 1, 2026 — Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association Honorary Secretary Parampreet Singh Bajwa (Harry) and Vice President Jasdev Singh Brar are scheduled to meet the Chief Justice of India in New Delhi on August 3 to deliberate on the implementation of the Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC) Scheme.
According to a formal notice issued by the High Court Bar Association, the high-level meeting comes in response to a written request submitted by the Joint Action Committee.
In a significant move toward normalizing court proceedings, the association announced that advocates will resume work starting August 3, officially bringing an end to their participation in the ongoing LADC Scheme protest. Additionally, the notice confirmed that the previously scheduled General House Meeting has been deferred until further notice.
