Transfers Breaking: DIG Border Range, Amritsar, among Two IPS officers transferred

Chandigarh, June 12, 2026: The Punjab Government on Thursday ordered the transfer of two IPS officers, appointing Harmanbir Singh, IPS (2010 batch), as the new Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Border Range, Amritsar.
According to an order issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Harmanbir Singh has been shifted from his current post as DIG, Punjab Armed Police (PAP), Jalandhar, and posted as DIG Border Range, Amritsar. He replaces Vivek Sheel Soni, IPS (2011 batch).
The government order further stated that Vivek Sheel Soni has been directed to report to the Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab, pending further posting orders.
