  Jalandhar (Punjab), June 20, 2026: Senior IPS officer Satinder Singh on Saturday assumed charge as the new Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, outlining an agenda focused on combating drug trafficking, curbing illicit liquor smuggling, and strengthening law and order in the city.
  
  Soon after taking over, the Police Commissioner convened a meeting with senior police officials to review the prevailing security situation and discuss priorities for policing in the commissionerate.
