Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab protest entered 22nd day, condemns petition in court against agitating farmers
Ferozepur, 15.10.2020: Hundreds of farmers and labourers under the banner of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Punjab, on Thursday, continued their rail-roko protest against the Farm Acts on the 22nd day by burning the effigies on the railway tracks condemning the filing of a petition in the court against the agitating farmers by the Haryana government.
Earlier the talks with the farmers at Delhi on October 14 had failed without any fruitful results and the farmers have extended their agitation till October 17. In the meantime, the core committee for farmers outfits will hold a meeting to announce the further action plan.
Addressing the gathering of agitators, the state president Satnam Singh Pannu and Sukhwant Singh Lohka, District Press Secretary said that on the one hand Capt government is standing with the farmers against the three farm ordinances by the central government whereas on the other hand, it is trying to suppress their agitation. With this attitude, the real face of the government has been exposed.
The farmers' leader further said that the Union government was insulting and humiliating the leaders of 29 farmers' organizations by inviting them to Delhi for a meeting on October 14 and at the same time, instead of holding meetings with the farmers' leaders, the eight Union Ministers hold virtual rallies to explain the benefits of the ordinances to the farmers in Punjab.
Giving a warning to the central government and inviting the family members to join the agitation, the farmer leaders said, the Punjab government should immediately withdraw the writ petition filed in the High Court against the agitators adding to immediately revoke the three farm bills as the same would not acceptable at any cost.
