Railways withdraw goods trains from Punjab ?
Chandigarh, October 25, 2020: The Railways reported to have decided to withdraw the movement of goods trains to Punjab after the incident of stopping of goods trains at Moga, Jaitu and Talwandi Sabo meant for movement of wheat and coal for the Corporate houses.
According to railway source, it seems that the reason behind stopping the movement of goods trains to Punjab is that the Centre has decided not to bow before the dictates of protesting farmers outfits.
The source said that the government was of the view that both passenger and goods trains should run simultaneously.
The goods trains were started after the withdrawal of farmer's dharnas from the railway tracks to allow the movement of goods trains for transportation of essential commodities.
