GNDU announces key academic appointments; Details Inside; Watch Video

Amritsar (Punjab), July 5, 2026:Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has announced a series of key administrative appointments aimed at strengthening its academic and co-curricular activities.
Vice-Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh has appointed Prof. (Dr.) Amandeep Singh of the Department of Physical Education as the In-charge of the Department of Youth Welfare. In another significant move, Prof. (Dr.) Yubee Gill, Head of the Department of English, has been given the additional charge of Head of the Department of Foreign Languages.
The appointments were announced in the presence of Registrar Prof. (Dr.) K. S. Chahal, Professor In-charge Public Relations Prof. (Dr.) Ravinder Kumar, Dean Students' Welfare Prof. (Dr.) Satnam Singh Deol, Prof. (Dr.) Balbir Singh, faculty members and university staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Chahal said entrusting important responsibilities to experienced faculty members would further strengthen the university's academic and student development initiatives. He noted that the Department of Youth Welfare plays a crucial role in nurturing leadership, creativity and social responsibility among students, while the Department of Foreign Languages equips learners with global language skills and broadens their international perspective.
After assuming their new responsibilities, Prof. Amandeep Singh and Prof. Yubee Gill thanked Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh and the university administration for their confidence. They pledged to carry out their new roles with dedication and work towards the continued growth and development of their respective departments.
