Amritsar (Punjab), July 5, 2026:Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, on Sunday issued a 10-day ultimatum to the Punjab Government, demanding action against two alleged IT cell groups accused of running campaigns against Sri Akal Takht Sahib on social media.
Addressing the media, Giani Gargaj alleged that the two IT cell groups were spreading narratives aimed at undermining the authority and sanctity of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He called upon the state government to immediately halt such activities and take appropriate action against those responsible.
The Acting Jathedar warned that if the government failed to stop the alleged campaigns within the stipulated 10-day period, the Sikh Panth would launch a march to the offices of the concerned IT cells to put an end to their activities.
He stressed that Sri Akal Takht Sahib is the highest temporal authority of the Sikh community and said any attempt to tarnish its image or challenge its authority would not be tolerated.
