COVID tally in Chandigarh crosses 1000 mark in last 24 hours

Chandigarh, January 12, 2022:
Chandigarh reported 1114 new COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday. One death due to COVID was also reported in the last 24 hours.
As per the information released by the health department, UT Chandigarh, the total number of active cases in Chandigarh stands at 4808.
In the last 24 hours, the department has tested 5211 samples. As per the figure, 1084 deaths have been reported in Chandigarh due to COVID-19 to date.
Likewise, the total number of patients who have tested positive to date stands at 71303.

Discharged Patients:-
Today 229 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 7 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
COVID Death:-
- An 87 year old COVID positive female resident of sector 28 who was a case of type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and hypothyroidism expired at GMCH Sector 32. She had developed urosepsis with multi organ dysfunction syndrome.She was fully vaccinated for COVID.
