Six held for removing BJP's tent in Mauli Baidwan

Sohana police have arrested six persons today for allegedly attacking the booth of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) during the polling of Municipal Corporation elections here.
The arrested persons have been identified as Avtar Singh, Udham Singh, Baljinder Singh, Tarlochan Singh, Satinder Singh, and Sarbjit Singh, all residents of Mauli Baidwan village in Mohali.
As per the police, the six suspects along with their accomplices tried to remove the tent (booth) of Rakhi Pathak, a BJP woman candidate in ward number 31 (Mauli Baidwan village) here. The incident took place around 10.30 am today.
Inspector Bhagwant Singh, Station House Officer of Sohana police station said, "On the complaint of candidate's husband, Suresh Kumar, we have registered an FIR under Sections 131,132 of the Representation People Act and 171-C,506, 149 of the Indian Penal Code. The suspects have been arrested and the investigation is initiated."
